Got the tank moved to the basement. Cut out and installed a food grade HDPE (1/16") and placed that below the rock and sand.

Then I put in ~ 120 LBS of live sand on the bottom (This is just the first 40LBS):

And here we have the tank on day 3 with the two rock structures assembled and water is flowing.

Found this great conversation about copepod propagation and plan to get some pot scrubbers and try it myself.

Got the Red Sea 1200 ReefMat and installed in the sump. I went with the bigger one on this system and hope to have a lot of fish and feed them well. I am also no so good at washing/rinsing filter socks so will give this a try (or have limited time).
