I just started to see copepods on my glass They are lowkey kind of cute (weird yes I know lol) but I know how beneficial they can be to the tank too now I don't wanna take a Razer blade to the front glass in fear of hurting them LMAOO so general discussion do you guys get attached to everything in your tank like copepods or those beneficial hitchhikers... or only the fish corals and inverts lol

A)You're not going to hurt them, at least not enough to make a difference.
B)Even if you do, your fish will be just as happy to eat the injured ones (and the fish that aren't going to try to get something off the glass might be happy for the free food)
C)Even if you managed to kill all the living ones you can see on the glass, there's going to be plenty more on the rocks and sand.

If you want, use a turkey baster to blow them off the glass before you clean it.

While I do try to keep everything alive, I am not losing sleep if my algae scraper bumps a copepod off my glass :D :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

I'll admit, if I see a bunch of them in one spot (at least in my smaller tank), I'll go around them as well, but it's not something I worry about too much. Ramming the glass scraper into a snail, OTOH, I feel much worse about.

I’ve been desensitized to this kind of thing in my tanks over the years, but I always encourage Reefers to enjoy their tanks in their own way. It’s always cool to find new critters, especially when we don’t knowingly put it in our tanks. All a part of the awesome reefing life! :)
