Got my IM 100. It came with a separate section with leveling feet. The leveling feet part would raise the whole tank by 5 inches. Do people who have gotten their tank recently use it? IM says its optional.

I didn't have any type of leveling since I built my own cabinet. After I placed the cabinet on the floor I found out that I needed to shim one end since the floor was uneven. Leveling feet with yours could be beneficial for the first leveling and then if the weight causes any movement regarding the support.

I did use it on my SR-80 Lagoon AIO, but, like you, I wonder if it was really necessary as my floor is level.

Mines a “lagoon” (14” height) so the extra height looks good, but, need to use a step to reach bottom.

The concern I had was why IM would include a very nice super strong stand if it was not needed. There stands and levelling stands are absolutely well built. One of the best combos I’ve seen.

IM rimless tanks, or any rimless tanks, can suffer glass failures if the floor is not super strong and very level, so in the end, I just did not take the chance.

It would largely depend on each individual situation and the composition of the floor.

Wood floors of any type are susceptible to warping over time and this could put stress on the glass and the stand mitigates that especially in a location where water is present.

If it was concrete, I might consider that.

I’d not take that risk. Better safe than sorry. You could reach out to them for clarification.

I use it. I think it looks better. It does make the tank taller so dealers choice on using it or not.
