Got home from work and noticed 3 patches of this weird stuff only on 1 rock. Biggest 1 is about 2.5" H x 1.5 W. RFA's are right next to these so you can get idea of size.

Seems to have 'holes' in what looks like mucous. Touched it with finger & feels kinda like it as well and almost deflated a bit when I did touch it. Not stringy tho.

Leaving tonight for 2 days outa of town and def relying on y'all to help me on this as I'm clueless whether or not to panic!

Parameters are the same as they have been for over a year.
28g AIO Nano Mixed reef w pair of clowns, 2 dazzles, 1 six line wrasse, CUC, 1 cleaner & 1 Peppermint shrimp.

Attaching pic I took 2 weeks of ago of DT so you can see location of the rock which I didnt notice this stuff until today. Zero sign of it anywhere else.

TIA as always!! Much appreciated for your input :)

Its cryptic poriferan sponge and while not harmful can become invasive over time. Favors shaded areas with minimal flow.
If it becomes a problem child, expose it to air, pulling it out with the end of a small crochet needle or inject with vinegar to stop its growth
