I have this heater dual 100 watt unit, I made up some new water, the water was cold, I turned off my return pump, I put the water in the sump, it caused the heater controller to go to E4 aka cold water, so my heater has been off for over 5 days.

How do you re set the controller so the heater starts to heat again?
Thanks in advance

Wit til you see the top of the titanium heating element turn red, that means the heater is on and adjusting the water temp.

The annoying alarm will sound but just wait a few. I had a E5 problem because my AIO tank back chamber had no water flow and I could not figure out why the alarm sounded everyday I though I was going crazy.

I ended up moving the heating element next to my filter sock compartment and removing the in-chamber mini refugium. More water flow and the heating element never sounded the alarm these past few days.

In your case I think you need to recalibrate it so the alarm will only sound if your water is below X F.

Mines is set to 86F being high alarm sound and 70F being low alarm sound.

Unfortunately I purchase mine used so I do not have the documentation for trouble shooting and setting up the alarms. I went on their site and I think in the past I was able to get the PDF which was very helpful, maybe I was just too frantic to see it.

Hello, The E4 alarm indicates that the current water temperature is lower than the "Low Temp" preset. You can temporarily turn off the alarm by pressing any button. The E4 alarm with automatically turn off once your water temperature is above the "Low Temp" preset. You can also turn off the audible alarm on the side of the controller. I have attached a pdf manual for your reference

thanks
