I have a little IM Nuvo 15g and looking for an alternative to their filter sock. They’re impossible to easily clean. Curious if others found something else to use. Thanks!

I just use some filter floss. Much cheaper to just buy a big roll of it and chuck it every few days rather than cleaning (my wife would kill me if I put filter socks in the laundry). Just put the media basket in and a little rectangle of filter floss on top.

So you have the polyfill in this?

Yeah, exactly.

I prefer the media baskets that In-Tank makes for the IM AIO, as oddly they fit better than the IM produced ones. Have a look at their site, at a glance they might be sold out of what you need currently, but the one you linked should work.

This is the filter floss I use...$10 worth is going to last a really long time:

Here's a photo of my intake chamber, I've got the same on both sides (My 40 gallon has two overflows)

Thanks for the amazon screenshot, I'm currently using some leftover cotton balls but I'll be switching over to the floss. I debated getting the auto fleece roller for IM but that might be overkill ontop of a skimmer....

I rarely clean my filter sock, maybe once every 2-3 weeks so I'm not too sure what are the negatives.

Thanks again for the suggestions. Got both! The floss holder from Five Star Aquatics fits like a glove and the $10 Seapora floss will last years probably. Very happy and exactly what I was looking for
