Indigo Dottyback??????

Hello

I have a relatively small tank (30g) with an aquamaxx hob-1 skimmer about 35 lbs live rock and live sand. I have quite a few corals and have had the tank for about 6-7 months now. It is pretty stable and everything is doing well. All of my parameters are good although my tank runs a little dirty in the nitrates as I was told that my LPS and Zoa's like it that way.

As far as fish, I have 2 tank raised clowns, 1 neon yellow goby, 1 yellow coris wrasse and one yellow clown goby. I would like to add one more fish and prefer to add one that is functional as well. I know the yellow coris eats pests and the yellow neon is a cleaner. I have a lot of yellow in my tank, so would like to add some more color to the tank. The main issue I have is that I don't want anything too aggressive as I don't want my yellow neon and clown goby's to start hiding.

I was thinking of getting and ORA Indigo dotty back. They are a beautiful light blue, they are tank raised in large groups and supposedly because of the mix with the striped dotty back, they are a relatively peaceful species.

ANY THOUGHTS, COMMENTS???? If anyone has any other suggestions on a colorful, useful, and playful fish, please let me know.

From my experience with dotty backs . They become territorial to smaller fish once established to the tank. You might be ok since the smaller fish are already established in the tank

I had one that was great for about 6 months. Then suddenly it became aggressive to everything. Knocking down Hermits off rocks. Attacking any fish it could sneak up on. He was taken to a local store and given credit for less than half i paid for it.

You would be rolling the die. All dotty backs have the potential to become pretty aggressive, especially towards (but not limited to) anything smaller than itself.

Plus, it will eventually kill any cleaner shrimp you may have.

Believe me. I've tried.

Ah another one I had never seen before. Yes a good way to add blue (if not a lot of chromis, of course).

I think you're overstocked already and this is why your nitrates are high. Adding another fish will only make them higher.
