So would like to know more as to usage in the hobby . Water Proof ? Can you and should you control 2 heaters ? Does the wi fi one give an alarm to your phone ?

Only the probe is waterproof.
I am not sure, but I think teh wifi one will give you an alarm.
My preference for redundancy is to run two separate controllers. I personally use Helios, but tons of people in the hobby use inkbirds.

I cannot speak to the two heaters, but the wifi Inkbird will send an alert to your phone for high or low temperature, I believe it will also alert for the heater being on longer than a time you set.

Unfortunately, there are many variations of the Inkbird and their website can add to the confusion. If you look to acquire one make sure that you get one with the marine grade probe, as well as, a model where the probe isn't hardwired, but replaceable if needed.

I looked at Helios but the literature says the heaters have to have three prong . I have never seen three prong cords on heaters . Do you have guidance There ?

I'm using an inkbird not as a controller for my heaters, but as a failsafe in case they break in the "on" position. At that point the temperature would exceed the maximum (80F) and the inkbird will cut electricity to the heaters and save my tank from cooking. I'm using cheap(ish) heaters from Amazon, and using their built in controller for turning on and off. Thus the inkbird never does any mechanical on/off cycling, instead only shutting the outlet off during a heater malfunction.
I did this intentionally so my cheap heaters are the things that are getting mechanical wear from on/off cycles. I plan to replace my heaters every year but I shouldn't need to replace the inkbird for awhile. Hopefully that makes sense.

Can you provide the model number of the product about which you are inquiring? InkBird makes many products and I use many of them for my aquarium. Knowing the specific product will help get you the best answers.
I think all my heaters are 3 prong. Maybe it's a US Canada being different requirement thing.
PS I think mine are 308 models and Wi-Fi does send alerts.

No take a look at the sites no one makes heaters here .
I run two heaters off a single InkBird ITC-306A. (Heaters set a couple degrees higher just in case InkBird fails on but never had that happen).
The alerts do get sent to your phone but, for the "offline" alert like in a power outage, it does take some time.
*I think it was something like 60-90 minutes the last time I tested, on mine anyway

I like what was said about not using it for the control feature but just if your heater fails .
All of the Eheim glass heaters I've owned are 3 prong.
The couple of cheapie Aqueon heaters I have for stuff are 2 prong.
*would've expected all to be 3 prong but oh well

The inkbirds will work with either 2 or 3 prong but I checked and all of my my titanium heaters are 3 prong.
