Hey guys I was wondering if I run the return from my UV sterilizer down if that works. I wasn't sure if it needs to go up to work properly and I didn't think it would be a problem but wanted to check with you guys.

Others have asked the same thing, and the general concern was filtering the water mechanically as to not cover the bulb with detritus. Also uv needs a slow flow through it, so just make sure it's not too fast. But otherwise it doesn't really matter where it goes.

Ok, thank you for the help. I was planning on running a flow sensor on the intake and discharge so that should do it I believe its 40gph. That's intake and discharge right? Dosen't sound easy if you mount it vertically

If mounting a UV sterilizer/clarifier horizontally the inlet and outlet should be facing up to allow air to escape the chamber. Note there are some exceptions if the inlet/outlet are on opposite sides, but this is not the case with most units.

If mounting vertically the inlet is the bottom, the outlet is the top, to allow air to escape the chamber.
