We got our first one in a week ago, and are loving it! Our electrician dissected it, and gave it a full electrical inspection, and was very impressed. The drivers are all on one single circuit board, in an anodized aluminum case. The fixture has 2 silent cooling fans, and has remained cool even after running for 24 hours. The most unique part of these fixtures is the hybrid board, which contains both cree LEDs for the royal blues and cool whites, and bridgelux LEDs for the deep reds, greens, cyans, blues, and violets.(10 Cree XP-G 7500K cool whites, 10 Cree XP-E 450nm royal blues, 3 660nm reds, 3 490nm cyans, 3 420nm violets) The whites, royal blues, and bridgelux colors each have their own dimmer, for unparalleled color control. Each fixture consumes only about 90 watts at max power, making them a very energy efficient solution for lighting a reef tank. I hung the sample over a 40 breeder, and it cover that well, however these fixtures do best covering a 24" area. The Cree LEDs have 90 degree optics, and the bridgelux have 120 degree optics. These fixtures are now up for pre-order for only $249 shipped, making them one of the most affordable hybrid fixtures on the market. They start shipping in 2 weeks, just in time for christmas, and to celebrate their release, we will start them out at 10% off, or only $225 shipped! You can get yours here: reefbreeders
