Figured I should probably make an account after stalking R2R weekly for answers since setting up my tank two years ago.
My name is Alastair/Al; I’m 20; I currently work at a music store but intend to study marine biology when my contract ends in a little under 2y.
Last year I accidentally crashed the tank due to a faulty salinity meter. I lost all stock except my OG ocellaris, who has somehow pulled through every mistake I’ve made.
I went through an 8 month period of doing the bare minimum for my tank, and have been slowly improving the tank again now that I’m better functioning. My rockscape collapsed. GHA has overrun the tank; though I’m tentatively proud to say I think I’m starting to win the war. I have supplies to fix the rocks coming this week.
Current setup;
36g Bowfront Tank
MarineLand C filter
Hygger mini wavemaker 3W
Hygger Marine One light
Livestock;
2 clowns (female standard black ocellaris, male midnight extreme misbar ocellaris)
1 Randall’s goby and 1 tiger pistol shrimp (unfortunately I cannot confirm if the shrimp is alive at this time)
1 Green BTA, my horrible little child who stresses me out but I love her
1 Tuxedo urchin
1 hermit crab; had more, the surviving one seems to clobber any other crab I put in the tank
6-8 Turbo Snails
1 Kenya tree coral
A retroactive thank you to everyone who has unknowingly eased my anxiety about my children over the last two years; and gave me the heart to not sell the tank entirely.
