invasive pocillopora(i think) need help

Hello r2r, i have what i think is a pocillopora from a couple years ago get pretty big and mature.. over time started noticing it was growing in random spots in my tank... and unfortunately i kept letting it grow.... i took the mother colony out a couple months ago which was the size of a softball... now i still have the small colonies all over my tank.. any easy solution to this ???It is getting way too close to some of my acros and that does not make me happy... I'm currently experimenting with getting a piece of solid opaque plastic and covering a coral patch with it ( and putting a rock on the plastic to keep it from floating away )... and i dont think this is gonna be a fun road. hope someone maybe has some good tips.. thanks guys/gals

I would just make little balls of JB Water weld with a bit of SG gel on them that I would mash onto wherever they are growing and call it good.

ya i've thought that... and im sure it would work my tank would just look bad for a bit... i probably have 50-100 different colonies(dime sized to golf ball sized) of this coral in my tank

Yeah that is pretty rough but after a while the white patches would blend back in. I dont think there is an easy way out of this one.

One of the most interesting of coral behaviors... P Damicornis. Can release live polyps into the water, to settle and grow elsewhere.

No fun when it actually happens :)

If it were me, I'd let 'em grow to marble size, chip 'em out, and take them to the LFS or Reef Club. Covering them over with epoxy putty or whatnot should be effective, but if it's done this once, it's likely to do it again. You're probably going to want to get rid of that colony.

ya i got rid of the colony, its now a shelf piece :( i really don't like doing that but a lot of LFS dont want this coral... I for sure regret getting and and would never recommend this coral to anyone... You are absolutely right that it is fascinating !! better left in the ocean with this coral i think... i have many various SPS colonies and they all lose the battle to this coral
