I'm getting ready to quarantine some nassarius snails and I'm going to put a container of new sand in there for them. Is there any benefit from vacuuming some of my dt sand and putting the dirty water in new sand?

Yes! They go into the sand to feed. If you have new sand they have nothing to feed on.
