iPad Screen Bleaching SPS

Is it possible that the light from an iPad screen woud bleach an SPS? I have an iPad next to the tank, where the frag rack rack is. It is my always on display for the APEX. I have one frag that completely bleached, on one side mainly, closest to the glass where the display is. All of my other SPS still have rich vibrant colors. Other SPS are closer to the lights and were unaffected. Has anyone else experienced this?

I wouldn't think it's a result of the iPad screen. Will be interesting to see if anyone has experienced this.

I dont think an ipad produces enough light. An ipad is around 500 nits. Roughly only 1730 lux.

Mathematically we can assume a constant of warm white light of 76.

but thats using the raw information provided buy the supplier on their screens brightness. Id wager measured in the real world it will be quite lower.

I wouldn't think that the Ipad would bleach your sps anymore than leaving the lights on in the room 24/7. Considering how much power it takes to bleach sps with our lights intended for the use of growing coral, i'd say the problem lies elsewhere.

It could just be the outside area where your main lights don’t get too.

What's the flow like in the tank? Is that side of the coral (or the entire frag) in the direct path of a powerhead? Or the opposite; it's not getting enough flow as it's away from all the powerheads?

Just for fun I ran an iPad par experiment. I used an iPad Pro with the brightness at 100% and a solid white screen and the Apex PMK sensor placed at 2”, 4”, and 6” from the screen. After measuring for 15 minutes, I was unable to detect any par value above 0.
