Iphone to droid

Hello all, I'm a long time iPhone user, since the beginning really. Currently I still have the iPhone 4 after not being impressed with the 5 or the 5s. I'm thinking of jumping ship and buying a samsung galaxy note 3. My question is, for those of you that were iPhone users and now use droid, do you have any regrets? Or vice versa droid users who have switched to iPhone, do you miss droid or prefer iPhone now?

Some apps are better on iPhone Dislikes I hate having to use iTunes for music. New operating system ends up causing problems on older phone

Thanks for the input, honestly this is the first pro iPhone comment I received and I've been asking around a bit. I do appreciate hearing the negatives of droid

I was the opposite, I had been wanting to try an iPhone since they came out and I finally got my hands on the 5. I couldn't ever get used to it, I missed my back button. My brother (a self declared computer nerd said he didn't like the iPhone after having one either) told me is regret getting it and he was right.

This debate has its followers just like the old MH versus LEDs and you'll find diehards on both sides.

For the record I am halide and DROID. Lol

I use to use a Galaxy S2 and a Galaxy Nexus and now I have an iPhone 5. I would say if you're going to use an android phone you should buy directly from google. Pure Stock android phones are way better than phones that have a "type" of android. HTC/Samsung all use their own style of android and it doesn't allow the phone to run as smoothly as it should. That's why I would recommend the Nexus 5. Google customer service is also very very very good.. from my experience.

I miss using the Galaxy Nexus but def not interested in anymore Samsung phones since they are marketed totally different than what they actually perform.
But honestly there's always going to be pros and cons for both sides... it all depends on personal preference.

Had iPhone since first week they came out. Never perfect but always great. I like having the confidence that if there is a problem or something lacking, it is being worked on and will be resolved eventually. Every time I touch an android phone or tablet I shudder at the jankiness and confusion of the operating system, the cheapness of the handset, and usually the garishness of the screen colors.

The most interesting and telling statistic out there for me is that (and my numbers may be slightly off ...) 78% of mobile web traffic is from apple devices that only represent around 30% of the total number of devices out there. The conclusion is that people tend to use android phones as feature phones and not really smart phones. There has to be a reason ... Still, whatever floats your boat. Apple depends on making both it's devices and it's OS as good as possible in order to survive. Google makes and gives android away solely as a means of reinforcing it's dominance in the search engine business. You always get what you pay for.

As a computer programmer I use and iPhone the tool chain to develop the programs is weak on the Android platform that is why you see software release on iOS before Android. From a money stand point I can not make a living with Android just not monetary reason to make an app besides taking three times as long to develop one due the the various form factors and all the different processors and ram that all the various phones droid phones have. An really the vast majority of Android uses play games ported from flash and Facebook. The iPhone has a very large after market for integration into cars and the home with manufacturers working with the companies knowing what size and the requirements of the phone used.

i think one of the reasons for more use is the price. there are more lower priced and free phones on the android operating system around the world. the iPhone has been a premium item from day one and a more functioning device not just a phone. i like that my tablet (iPad mini) iPhones, and desktop (iMac) all tok to each other. it would have to be significantly better for me to make a change. and i have had no problems with my iPhones from day one.

Even though I have a firm opinion in the matter it is still interesting to me how other people's differ and I like to try to understand why. It seems to come down to what you value in a device or tool. I love excellent, intelligent design and Apple has that in both the hardware and software. I know that anything Apple introduces will work well (except *cough* maps *cough*) and if it doesn't (maps ...) it will get fixed. I would rather have that than a bunch of half-baked and ultimately useless or annoying features that are "new" and "exciting" initially. Customizing my device could be fun if I had nothing else to do with my time, but I prefer to just use it for what it's for and know that it will work well. I also value the solidness of the hardware and beauty of the designs. I keep my phones for 2 years before upgrading and I want them to still work and look good after that time. Apple's do, and still have very significant residual value on the market when I'm done with them.

I manage a cellphone store and here is my opinion. I started with Android and will stick with it. I like how much I can customize it, download all the free music I want, basically do anything I want. They do have glitches more then apple products.

I am very impressed with how incredibly reliable apple phones are in the fact that they rarely glitch. Great battery life. I do not like small screens another reason I won't switch. I would say apple has such great quality build. I have a Samsung Galaxy 4 but it is basically completely plastic. Again that doesn't bother me too much since I through a case on it.

Apple phones are easier to use I might add. Hope this helps.

First off let me say thank you for the feedback and input. I would like to better explain the situation/needs.

I mentioned i have been using Iphones for over 6 years now, I have an Ipad as well. Its safe to say i am an apple fan. However the feedback am looking from people who have owned both operation platforms, playing around with the phone doesn't really count as experience in my opinion. I'm not looking to be sold on either from the fan boys, but i'm interested in hearing real world application and experience. I want to use apple, i've been happy with them for years, but not as of late. I believe they have pretty much been selling the iphone 4 for years now. The 4s, 5, 5s is basically the same to me. I understand the 5 got a little bigger/different hardware, hardware doesnt interest me and growing in length but not width just doesnt appeal to me aesthetically. I'm looking for something to interest me again, apple use to be innovative, fun, and unique, but i don't get that anymore. I use the phone primarly for calls, texting, facebook, and forums. Games on occasion, some internet browsing, some email, but nothing to serious. I have work phone which is for work, and when i'm home im on my ipad. I pretty sold on the switch to the Note 3, I use ATT, and they let you try it for 2 weeks and if your not happy you can exchange for something else. So i think i'll play with droid and see what i think, at the bare minimum I'll have something to entertain me until apple learns some new tricks.

I use an iPhone 5S for personal use and an S4 for work everyday. So many pros and cons to both. But if you are NOT a programmer and you are a normal person who just downloads apps and games and talks and texts, the iPhone is WAY easier interface. If you want to do all the custom stuff, then get the S4. I absolutely love both of them. The 5S is a HUGE stepping stone above the 4 though. It's not the same phone. One thing that drives me nuts with my S4 is that I get glitches here and there. I think they need to work on perfecting their software a little bit.

There are only two reasons I feel going to an Iphone is a must:
1) You are not tech savvy and need simplicity.
2) Group chats are a factor


That being said, I went from several droids to a Iphone recently. It doesnt bother me much I actually have grown to really like apple. The only reason I swtiched was because group chats were a nightmare for me because I am 22 years old and everyone I text has one, so I would get group chats individually and have to peice it together.

Droids are superior besides the group chat and simplicity. But that goes for almost all Apple products, really just paying for simplicity and its name.

I think you should re-read what I said. I said an iPhone is good for its simplicity, in fact all of apple is. That's the value that made them as successful as they are. They didn't invent anything they just made things more efficient and user friendly. There were MP3 players, tablets and computers before Apple came out with there's.
Now, I said apple/iPhone users are stupid within my text? Please tell me how this makes sense, that would mean I am calling all my friends, my sister and her family, my girlfriend, my father and myself stupid. You are mistaken and frankly just sound like an apple fanboy that thinks all apple products are perfect.

To clarify more, no I don't think apple is for "stupid" people. I'm picking up a MacBook by the end of the month for myself. So tell me again what I really meant?
