I remember watching a kayak fisherman catch one. When he brought it onboard it dropped onto his leg/foot and hit him through his wetsuit. It split his skin open lol.

Yep. It can hurt and cause damage. If you toss one in a standard 10g tank there's a chance it'll break through. They're no joke.

I actually saw this old video from Smarter Every Day recently which raised my eyebrows… I don’t think I’ve ever seen video evidence of a smashing mantis breaking glass, much less in slow motion!
