You would be better off from online with shops like SBB Corals, TCK Corals, Whitlyn Aquatics is a good local to deal with.
I would highly recommend SBB and if you want an anemone I know people here that are selling them and they are very healthy and colorful

Sometimes waiting for the sales put on by vendors is a good time to buy. Often there is a big banner at the top of the reef2reef website. Obviously have to trust the vendor but if you are just looking to get some coral and nothing super specific, you can get some on sale with one shipping module.

Corals anonymous is a good budget source. Always seem to have something on sale and some of their sales are huge discounts.

Only had a few issues with DOAs and they always took care of it.

I've only ordered from them once and will not again. The frags were incredibly small and most did not make it. Including a tridacna clam.

I had a really bad bubble algae infestation from one order. There might be one case of AEFW too but couldn’t pinpoint the source exactly. Overall the frags definitely aren’t as “clean” as from other vendors. That being said I have gotten some hard-to-get corals and pretty nice acro pieces from them at very low prices.

If you do get stuff from them I would definitely remove the original frag plug and mount them onto new ones.

Places for cheap corals: harrysfrags, GW Corals on eBay (auctions); fishofhex is running a big sale too.

Use the forums marketplace section and buy from users. Much cheaper and have always had great experiences.

I'm happy with my first order from @Queen City Corals . They had a couple of clams I wanted so I went ahead and added 8 budget frags to get free shipping. The images online were accurate and everything arrived looking good. wysiwyg frags for under $20 is hard to come by.

I've also found some deals at tidal gardens after a flash sale. The sale after the sale I guess it's called.

I ordered from Aqua SD in the past and I haven't had any issues. They usually throw in a freebie as well. The prices are pretty good compared to other vendors who charge an arm and a leg. Definitely would order from them in the future.

@AquaSD is legit. I used to live and work in the area. I would stop by any time I was in SD. At the time they had good staff and nice livestock. theyve been at it for well over15 yrs

If you decide to use them, they have an ebay site where things can go for great prices. Look at the completed listings to see. But I haven't ordered from them in years, myself.

Somewhere I saw from a few people that the storefront is great, but using them online is not. I've never been there myself.
