Is it time for a CaRx?

In my 150 I use a carx and kalk dosed 24/7 currently at 3.5mlm.
Very simple to adjust. I can turn up kalk or the Kamoer running my carx. I hold alk at 7.5-8.
I hold 30+dkh out of the reactor.

As I type this, I’m realizing I’m probably just chasing numbers …but I adjust Alk and Ca dosing amounts probably 2-3x per week. So I’ve been at 200/75 for maybe 4-5 days. Today is my scheduled day to top off the Kalk in the reactor.


Here are my current Trident readings. Since Alk has been trending up, I would likely refresh the Kalk in the stirrer and back off from 200ml of Soda Ash dosing to about 150 ml/day, and wait to see what happens with the Ca levels before adjusting (if necessary) the calcium 2 part dosing level.

Are you dosing Kalk through your ATO?
I can see how that is a little easier than using a Kalk stirrer….. the strength of the Kalk in an ATO reservoir should be constant, not declining over time like Kalk in a reactor. When you top off your ATO, you add more Kalk and you don’t have to manage declining potency over time.

No kalk is dosed seperate from my ato. Im only dosing around 4 liters a day kalk. Carx is running at 50% less than before I added kalk which helps night time ph.
I will run kalk 24/7 with A4R in my new 112 growout system.
My 150 is using around 3+dkh per day.
