Your realistic best-bet to keep the animals alive is indeed to find a new home for them somewhere in someone’s established marine aquarium, possibly getting them back once your aquarium is established.

If you are physically unable to find a new home for them anywhere, you can try to save them with what myself and others have recommended.

Also, as I previously stated, I can’t return him as the fish store had him in prison. His stink was the size of someone’s face look like maximum 2 gallons on top of that there was nowhere to hide just him and water on top of that they didn’t let him eat live foods

As previously stated, that is likely better than it suffering in a tank that is not cycled that is also slowly killing it.

I physically can’t bring myself to pass him on to someone and let him die. I have to try.

If RODI water is just filtered water why wouldn’t I want everything filtered? (just asking kind of confused.)

You do want all water that goes into your marine aquarium to be filtered. Long story short; tap water in the majority of the world has a lot of impurities (and sometimes chemicals) in it which build up in your marine aquarium.

OK, so I will buy RODI water mix it with the freshwater add salt make it the right temperature add beneficial bacteria put it in the tank reintroduce inhabitants and pray

What are you talking about? There is no mixing RODI with freshwater. RODI is processed/purified freshwater.

Then re read everything these guys have told you. 2 or 3 times. Anything they said you don't understand , google it and read up on that. Write notes so you don't forget. They have gone out of their way to help.
Buy pre mixed salt water
Buy ro water
Buy some live rock
Heat salt water
Do a 100% water change
Put in live rock
Buy an ato or draw a line where the water level is on your tank and when the water level drops through condensation add RO water to stop your salinity from rising.
Keep testing and if you see signs of ammonia do water changes with salt water

There’s no place for egos in a discussion of biology and the lives of the animals involved here; what’s important is carefully reading and digesting the information you’ve been asking for, then following it up with your own rigorous research!

First and foremost; can you make a social media post in your area looking for someone with an established marine aquarium who can house your animals? Possibly contact other semi-local fish stores?

let’s be proactive in saving the animals here before anything else!


This is a complex hobby to jump in to, and the best thing you can do for your own long-term success is dedicated time doing your research!
