Probably not for some acropora... but it might be OK for some things.

I guess that I should ask, stable enough for what?

You are fluctuating .2 or less a day or two that’s nothing he is fluctuating .4 or more a day. For montis I would say it would be fine

Depends on what species- you have a .6 jump in a 24 hour period. So, a hardy Montipora= yes, others maybe not so much. Other parameters also make a difference = nitrates, Po4, temp stability, lights, etc.

I get .1 changes at the most during a 24 hour period and montipora and birdsnest are hard for me to keep colored up and or alive, but acros... No problem. I know every tank is different but come on the " hard stuff" grows and the "easy stuff" withers away.

It also depend on what parameter the corals came from, if that hardy coral came from a tank with ALK dead on stable it'll not like your tank alk swing. If you buy corals from not so stable environment and thriving then you get a lot better chance it'll thrive in yours.

I think is very hard to keep it stable in one number. Mine jumps from 8.3 to 9 all the time and I have a doser. I lose something every now and then, but I think that has to do with my stupid nitrate that I cant keep down!

You have to take into account the amount of deviation tests have. That's why I don't test everyday because the variation changes can drive you mad. I test alk every 3 days and just make sure it is close to 8 in my system.
