My sinularia closed its polyps and looked like it was going to shed for a month while it began to droop and shrink. A week ago I gave it an iodine dip and it shed the next day, but didn't look very healthy. That's to be expected, I guess. But now I see this. It looks like the sclerites are exposed in some areas and maybe small areas of necrosis (spots in the second picture). Not sure what to do at this point.

How do your other corals look? And signs of tissue recession or bleaching?
overall they seem fine. favia, ricordia, zoas are mostly in the tank. There is a toadstool that is not open all the time, but doesn't look sick and has done that for a long time.

Any Update on This? My dura shows similar symptoms. Started after moving the tank (3hrs from disassembly to rebuilding, including a Car ride)

I has recovered. It is not showing signs of this anymore and is alive and growing, but doesn't look great. It looks like it has suffered some damage because of thicker skin after spending so much time with no polyps out.

My sinularia experienced a low salinity incident back this past summer and a lot of it died back and actually turned black. I fragged it into several smaller potions and finally it is recovering nicely. They are surprisingly resilient.

Glad to hear that John!

And thanks for the Infos! Together with answers on my panicked extra-thread, I am now a bit more at ease ;)
