Is possible to keep a saltwater pond?

I am curious if it is possible to keep a saltwater pond outdoors. If so my main concern would be temperature. I live in northern California I gets pretty hot in the summer however the winter can get pretty cold however it rarely freezes. At the moment it is 60F.
