Hi everyone need some opinions. I have a marineland 120g cornerflow tank the overflow can handle 700gph. I found a really sweet deal on a little giant*4-MDQX-SC. Can I dial the flow back with a gate or ball valve ? or is the pump to powerful for my tank?

That would be a little much for your tank. That pump pushes 1,325 GPH at outlet, with 17 ft. max head using 145 watts. I would look at a Reef Octopus Diablo DC 3500 pump, pushes 925 GPH at outlet but is controllable. At only $159.99 using 30 watts the pump will pay for itsely quickly, and is affordable to begin with. They're absolutely silent, and are ran in your sump which will help prevent leaks compared to using an external pump.
