So months ago I had one or 2 mushrooms in my current tank which then got neglected for months and the light was turned off for atleast a month. This allowed aiptasia to kind of spread over the tank but I thought the mushroom had completely disintegrated but ig not because there seems to be a tiny piece of it attached to one of the aiptasia after I just did my first water change after months. Or is this something else ?.

It does not look promising. If you're starting up again and have a ton of aiptasia, don't rule out the "Fresh Restart" and bleach and kill everything and start over completely. No sense in picking back up when you're overrun with pests.

i have 2 clownfish and a few inverts in the tank, ill try peppermint shrimp and some other stuff to reduce the population but im not filling the tank with coral so it shouldnt be a problem for now.
