My torches have been losing their flesh band and I keep seeing these brown flatworm looking pests. Flatworm exit didn’t do anything so I dipped all of em and put what fell off under a microscope. These things have a hard exoskeleton, I can hear it crush when I put the coverslip on. They look nothing like flatworms up close and I have no idea what they are or how to get rid of them. Has anyone ever seen these?

+1 likely ostracods. I had these in my original 75g, though mine may have been a different variation (not as "hairy" and more shield-shaped than egg-shaped). Too bad I did not get my microscope until after trying to ID them in my tank, so I have no good pictures...

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
