Is this a goniopora? Bought today.

Picked this up today, LFS called it a goniopora but it is unlike any I have seen. White or light lavender in color. Long, waving hair-like... said it was Australian?

Local place. West Houston/Katy area. I have a goniopora and two alveopora but I have never seen anything like this. It’s like a fraggle! Any idea what it is?

My loose guess was some kind of Galaxea , but doubt it. Its actually kinda cool looking. Def not Goni....

Agree... crazy looking but def not a goni. My gut said galaxea. But the tentacles are so long. Let me call in some help. @fishguy242 @MERKEY @sfin52 @LRT @Eagle_Steve can you help ID.

Positively galaxia and capable of stinging nearby coral so keep everything 3-4 " away from it

Its got that kinda look, the colour balance not so much. Neat find regardless!

Ya, I used to have one, shorter tentacles, more brown with almost silver tips on it. Agreed, fun to watch the flow over them

Not that I can see. Appears to be a solid color. I’ve only had it about 5 hours so it might come out a little more. I saw it at the LFS today and last weekend and I haven’t seen it expand more than it has since introducing to my tank.

Well great....I always wanted another Galaxea and now you have me searching for a lavender variety lol. ;)

Your lighting will change the appearance. Go to whites and you should see resemblance
