Is this a good or bad Algae l?

I bought this today from a local fish store. My partner is going off on me that it is bacterial film and I should remove it. I think it's some kind of Red Algae seaweed. Can someone help me identify itthe owner didn't have this for sale he had a rock full of smaller ones that I loved the look of and he gave me this piece from his frag tank for free he really wasn't sure what it was either. Side note: (My partner was in the store and saw what it was and at no point saw or said there would be an issue..in fact he started the conversation about selling it to us.)

Took these pictures I suppose it's hard to see true color. It looks purplish by the purple live rock.

I suppose a bacteria film would fall apart easily and not have these "veins" you can see on the right hand side.

However, I can't tell you if this algae can become a nuisance.

Looks like a type of red kelp. Sort of like Dulce
