Sup guys, so I have a few of these guys growing in the rear area of one of my rock. There’s about 6 or 7 of them. I believe they are “green paly”. I don’t want anything toxic in my tank and I have read lots of stuff about what can happen if boiled, cut etc.

My questions are the following

1. Which is this one exactly
2. I have a green hair mushroom in my tank, if I put it next to the polys, would it kill the polys off ?
3. If the answer to question 2 is yes , would the plays release toxins if the green hair mushroom kills them?
4 if the answer is no to question 2, I’ve read Aiptasia X will work. If Aiptasia works, do they release toxins if killed by Aiptasia?

I’m just trying to find the safest way to kill them if they are indeed that toxic.

Ughhhh. To my understanding is they only release toxins when messed with ? If toxins are released for any reason , it stays in the water correct ? I can’t breathe it in right ? Tank is in my bedroom

your fine as long as it stays under water and you dont mess with it...this variety of paly is a good strong grower,,sooooooo,,if you dont want them in your tank,,then now is the best time to remove them before they grow more polyps..

Yea. I really don’t want them in there. I’m still trying to find the best ( safest ) method of removal.

If your tank isn't full of corals, I would remove the rock and chizzle them off. They are quite resilient and will grow back with other means. They grow fast so before you know it you'll have lots. Best to deal with it now. Wear eye / face protection though just in case.

I wouldn't get yourself too worried. I've been handling palys for 30 years and never had an issue. Gloves are always a good idea when handling any corals. I don't bother half the time. The only story I have heard is the dumba$$ that boiled his rock in his kitchen and gassed himself and his pets. If you have to boil your rock, you need new rock.

I'd stick them with a syringe if you have access to one. The mushrooms wouldn't do much. Keep an eye on those too. They also can become a pest.

Just left the local LFS, I guess you guys and the guy at the LFS convinced me to not worry too much about it. Gonna leave them in there.
