Is this a safe way to secure frags?

So on another forum I saw someone who uses thermo plastic to secure their frags seems like it would work great and a lot cheaper than putty. Anyone else use it. Seem very strong when it dries. They also sell colored beads and you can mold into just about any color

Gets brittle and cracks too easily after a period of time.
