The darker one is when I first brought it home the other pic is from today. I saw that they will do this if they are getting too much light so I moved it to a less lighted area when I asked AI. It said that it looked fine It was just extended and happy and the light itself is washing the color out.

😅 Refrain from asking AI !

Its a hammer coral, maintain natural sea water parameters. I have hammers sitting on the substrate. i am not saying that is ideal. Place them where they look happy.
Refrain from constant moving around, = Stress! Fix and leave

😂. I know. I am ashamed.

So extension is better than color? What’s happy in this senerio?

What kind of light do you have at what intensity, what size tank?
It does look pale in the the pic, but its hard to tell under the blue light. Can you take a pic with white light only and turn off the blue? My hammer is directly under a metal halide pendant and gets very high light.

Lps don't require being flooded with light. The polyp extension looks fine to me with regards to a hammer. Aquatic lighting fluorescences the algae that coral holds

Blue lighting will make a coral look amazing, however under normal daylight it will look crap.. however it is lps and can survive, they are not light demanding as sps, they can survive and bloom at substrate levels 30" below adequate lighting

It’s a Singular xr15 at 90% intensity because I have a super deep tank and I’m saving up to upgrade the lights. It’s the coral I circled green. Just above it is a regular purple tip hammer doing amazing and a pink octospawn in the center also doing SUPER amazing.

Nice tank, it will look great once the corals grow out.
To me your coral looks happy and puffy, I wouldn't change anything, but hope others can give comments also. Good luck

It’s 24” deep (30x30x24) everything I read said 1 xr15 gen 4 wasn’t powerful enough. So I bumped it up. Doesn’t seem to be such a bad thing. Everything’s happy.

Thank you so much. It’s about to get a whole lot more colorful because I’m having too much fun at the WWC fragtober fest. 🤪

One of my builds is 72"x 30"x 24" All my Lps Sit substrate level. Illuminated Radion xr15 pro x3 gen 6 at 60% 12hr schedule, 4hrs daylight around 12k ish, my scape sits 10" from the substrate. Maybe you giving to much light

The gen 6 is WAY MORE powerful. An xr15 gen 6 would easily and perfectly lite my tank. However my light is a Gen 4. So it does have the power to reach as far down.

Honestly what I have and the way I have programmed works for my setup. It’s been running this way since day one so my corals have grown quite happy and healthy. It’s just the one hammer I feel is not optimal and I don’t want to change the stability of my entire system for one coral.

I was hoping it was a matter of moving it down or leaving it alone. I think I’ll shoot for leaving it be.
