I just got a new Duncan delivered after 2 days in transit due to a flight delay. It came out of the shipping bag looking like this. Sorry not the best picture but best I can get right now. The box felt colder than I would have liked that's for sure. I fear it's basically dead at this point. It's been out of shipping bag for 5hrs now and has never opened. Is it just overly stressed and just needs time? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

No, likely is still acclimating, i deem a Duncan dead when all the color is lost from the skeleton
It will take some time tho, possible weeks to re heal

I think it will probably be fine from the looks of it. It just needs some time. There appears to be good tissue coverage over the skeleton. Also, the polyps look to be intact. In my experience these are almost indestructible so I’d say just wait it out.

I agree with the others- baby just needs a little more time! If the flesh starts falling off in a few days, you might be in trouble, but in my experience Duncans are tough little boogers. Treat it gently, tell it what a good little frag it is, and wait a few days! Good luck! :D

It’s likely okay based on the tissue coverage. Make sure parameters and lighting are good though. Mine did the same when I got it; it’s thriving now.

Thank for all the replies. We'll wait it out some and keep our fingers crossed. Hopefully it pulls through. We so love all our salt babies that it just kills us when we lose one.
