Is this Favia open?

On a positive note, think I found my tank's first pod! This little guy likes to hang around and inside one of my zoa frag + plug. Couldn't get a clear ID until right now.

It looks like a spicy lemon or similar. "Trade Name" Mine is growing crazy in a partially shaded area off to the sides of my lights.

My AI Prime isn't exactly on low power but the corals are all the way at the bottom. On the other hand, I do want to move it to a shaded spot. It'll be easier when the tongs come in tomorrow; so I'll give that a shot! Thank you once again

Ah, had my doubts about it not being a favia. Doesn't really look like any favia i've seen online so far, stressed or otherwise. I don't know coral biology lingo, but favias look more...3D? lol
I hope the care for whatever I have isn't too complex though. So you recommend against feeding them at this stage (or trying)? Thanks a bunch

Favias technically don't occur in the hobby. Around 2014, they were reclassified to be limited to the Atlantic, where it's illegal to collect/export stony corals for aquaria. Most Indo-Pacific species were reclassified to Dipsastraea.

Attaching images with just white lighting! With my regular lighting there is red and bluish coloration. Got this guy 2 days ago.

My spicy lemon. Better color in the areas of filtered light/almost shade down low and slightly off my AI Prime. It's getting less light than the chalice on the right.

Anyone know what the little nub/stump on the right edge of the frag is though? It’s been there ever since i got the frag.

Update: little buddy is still not feeling too well. I did some research and I think the tube attached to the coral may be a vermetid snail? There’s another one that looks practically the same on one of my other frags, and there’s currently a very thin string flying out of it; that frag subsequently also closed up.

Is it possible that whatever the tube thingy on the “favia” is may be bothering and stressing it out?

Wait, this looks exactly like a hydroid… i removed the coral and placed it in my holding tank.
