I’ve had my tank for a few months now and recently I noticed two of my paly’s polyps stopped opening and have flopped over sideways and have attached to the rock beside it. At first I thought maybe it was slowly dying but now it looks as though there are some new buds starting on the stems. The polyps that do open on this coral are bigger and more beautiful than ever so I hope that it’s just growing and not slowly dying. What do you guys think? Here’s a pic below, it’s a bit hard to see. Thanks for your help.

Hello!

These are actually not palys but a firework clove polyp.

And yes they spread by stringing their bodies out and growing new polyp heads.

Also, be aware where you put them as they can be very agressive in taking over other corals as they grow very fast.

Cheers and goodluck!

Wow thank you so much for this info. I was wondering if it was a paly or not because I couldn’t find a pic of it when I googled it. Now I know what it is, thank you. Good to know about it spreading quickly, right now it’s in an area more or less by itself so I’ll make sure to keep lots of space around it.
Cheers!
