Hello,
I have my 2 year old mp10 which I haven't used in about 8 months. Today I opened it up to inspect it for use in my new set up but I noticed it looks rusted and cracked. Would this be safe to use in my reef?
Thanks in advanced.

I would inspect the rest of the parts. Is that shaft swollen? When put together does it spin easily?

Never took apart my vortech's, but I'm assuming that's impeller shaft for the wetside? I would suggest getting it replaced, but if you need it now I think it would be ok to use temporarily

Yes that is the impeller shaft. I don't know if it swollen but it does spin well when put together. I was thinking I should play it safe and just get a new impeller shaft.

I think it would be fine to use while you wait for replacment parts to arrive

Ok cool. I literally am just finishing filling up my tank right now so there's nothing it can harm.
