Hello! Hope all is well, I’ve had this Bali Slimer for about 2 months now and it’s been doing pretty well (hasn’t grown much but is putting out many new “heads/nodes”) but over the last few days I’ve noticed what looks like flesh receding/falling off. I’m brand new to sps, my tank has been doing amazing growing LPS and Softies and decided to take the dive into sps. I also recently setup a doser for Alk so my alk has been fluctuating a bit this last 2 weeks. I’m assuming this is STN but any advice weather it is or not or how to stop it would be much appreciated.

My water parameters:
Alk 8 (Salifert)
Ca 480 (salifert)
Mg 1480 (salifert)
No3 5 (salifert)
P04 0.04 (Hanna)
Salinity 1.024
Temp 78.8

I see polyps in the area, which is good. Only time will tell for sure.
Chemistry looks good. Always double check SG and calibrate devices used to measure.

I can still see retracted polyps on the underside where the shading is. That’s a good sign. If STN the polyps go with the flesh. I would say it looks more like a pest problem

Or maybe too strong of flow from that direction?

Does it look great from the top down view?

It also doesn’t really get much (if any at all) flow from that direction
