Don't you want to see the pinks, and yellows, and reds, and all the other colors of your rock and coral?

Hello everyone!

A little background. I recently went through a crash on my SPS dominate tank. I dosed Vibrant, Fluconazole, Chemiclean, etc and during this I had heavy metals in my RODI and main water along with low Iodine and high Potassium. During this time I changed out my (4) Mars Aqua Black Boxes with upgraded diodes and (2) Blue+ T5's in November to a (6) bulb LET Retrofit kit with all ATI bulbs.

I originally went with the 50/50 Coral+/Blue+ combination. This combo was very white compared to what I was running before with the Black Box LED's and (2) Blue+ bulbs. My LED's were set around 90% Blues and 20% whites. This is purely anecdotal but I think that going from a blue spectrum to a much whiter spectrum during all of the issues I was currently having caused stress on the system.

I went from (3) Coral+ bulbs to 2, then to 1, and now as of last night none at all. On my (6) bulb setup I have (4) Blue+ and (2) Actinic bulbs. I really like the look of this combo and it resembles a little closer to what I was used to running with the Black Boxes, etc.

My question is, will this have a negative impact on my corals? It doesn't bother me and If it will still keep the SPS happy and growing then I will leave it for a little while to see how it does. Just want to make sure I am not going to have a negative impact on my Corals more than what they have already gone through.

This is after I changed lights out to all ATI T5's with (3) Coral+ and (3) Blue+. You can see how much whiter the tank looks

This is last week. My setup was (1) Coral+, (4) Blue+, and (1) Actinic. You can see it still appears white

This is yesterday after I removed the last Coral+. It is now (4) Blue+ and (2) Actinic.

Looks good but I think remove one blue+ for a purple+ and you should be very close. @JCOLE

His purple plus covers the red segment pretty well and basically any T5 bulb is going to hit the yellow/green spectrum with the 550nm and 575 emission spectrum from mercury. I would definitely say it's too actinic for my own personal taste but some people love that look, who am I to judge?

Agree heavy blue and a purple is the way to go. If you want more blue or pop keep the purple and add a reefbrite.

Man, I am so sorry. I have not been keeping up lately. Hate that happened.

I can tell you what I am running for an idea of the T5 LED. The T5 will give that whiter look even with a lot of blue thrown at it. Like you mentioned, with the 90% blue and 20% white .

I have had my hybrid for about a year and half now. Just landed on my final set up after messing with it for months over the holidays.

I took a 4 bulb Hybrid and modified it to 6 bulbs and added 2 AI 52 hD. I have 2 coral + on the outside, 2 blue + inside, then 2 Geissman actinic in the middle.

The 2 LED are set

Here are a few coral with yellow filter. The colors are a bit orange but close. I don’t have a full tank shot

At this point I just want to keep them alive. :)

Purple plus really does brighten the tank up. The phone picture makes it look dimmer than it is.
