This is an open door for bacteria to get in, and that will quickly proliferate and turn into infection and bjd. I don’t know if Bacteria from the bad head made its way in. The dip should help. But we can’t exactly flush out all of the innards of that remaining head to get every single spot bacteria could be

The dip soak will get all exposed areas. That’s the best we can do. Now, we need to seal new bacteria out. And hope it’s sterile inside and give it a chance to heal.

Gorilla superglue gel is what I have used and been successful with, in this same situation. You need to rebuild a skeletal wall.

Line by line, build a wall with glue and leave no gaps for bacteria to get in on the sides

Do i need to dip my other torches or since they look healthy they shoukd be good?

And at this rate is it even worth saving the infected torch? Id rather not lose my other torches. I have a 12 head hellfire, 3 head holy grail and 3 head 24k Id be devastated financially if I lost haha

Like this
I alternate colors just to indicate “layers”
Think of a 3d printer. You are rebuilding the wall one line of glue gel at a time

I would leave the others. I would try and save this. If infection comes back then toss it. You have a decent survival chance if it’s dipped and sealed well

Alright ill glue it up now. Lots of brown gunk inside the skeleton. I used a baster to blow as much out as I could

If so then the split was not as far along as I thought. The heads will widen into an oval shape. Develop a inner wall that divides them. Then grow off into individual heads. Sounds Like the inner wall was forming but not complete, so the infection spread. The steps you took could help! Now you got antibiotic in spots a dip wouldn’t make it.

Check it every 12 hours and if it looks like it’s declining and has bjd then call it a loss

This is your best chance, if it has one. I have done this for hammers and torches with full recovery

This 2 head hammer arrived and the main head was chipped and the smaller head was sliced and missing the inside wall. It was like yours after you fragged it. The polyps could fall out the side if I tilted it.

And I rebuilt the wall with superglue to provide physical structure, and keep bacteria out

@Mrcote1
How’s it looking ? Hoping it pulled through for ya

The next morning it puffed up and was looking like it had hope. But after 2 days it started to decline again and the brown stuff started showing back up so I tossed it unfortunately.

Im hoping nothing else gets it. My ICP results came back and nothing looks concerning to me. Iodine is critically low but that seems pretty typical.

Sorry to hear that, consider this experience to fall back on if it happens again. The sooner you act the better
