The back of my rocks are covered in a short furry algae that the tangs, snails, and urchins aren’t touching. Is this turf algae? My nitrates are 3 and my phosphates are 0.02. I’m running a chaeto fuge and a filter roller with autowater changes and UV sterlizer. I just cut my feeding in half. What else can I do?

Algae eaters probably do not eat the yellow brown stuff

I think copepods and other competeting algae. aka gotta up your nutrients.

a little counter intuitive but i've heard it helps the battle. Theres a few battle threads out there but from what ive seen giving it time and a healthy microfauna biome (pods) will get ya through it!

Your nutrient levels are low. How old is the tank?
Kinda a tricky answer. The rock was placed in a tank a year ago. The tank leaked and rocks went into bins. This tank has been running since April… so 1 year to 7 months depending on where you start counting

Doesn't look like it. If you have no corals kill the lights and work on building biodiversity and microfauna. Those rocks don't look 1.7 years old.
