The elegance coral that I got 2 months ago died today. It has been in bad shape for a few weeks. I bought 120lbs of live rock and I had a nitrate spike in the 80-100 range. Went back to weekly water changes and dosing nopox. Now in the 10-20 range and dropping. This coral has gone from looking like death to looking alive again over and over for 3 weeks. It finally crashed today. I'm very sad. On the bright side, my sponge and Duncan are looking great. Well the sponge hasn't grown any but not dying lol.

It's always a horrible feeling to lose a fish or a coral. Best to figure out what went wrong, how to prevent it in the future, and get back on the saddle. :(

Wow, adding that much LR can Definitely cause a spike. How big is your tank?
