So a few montmonths back I won the first $2k gift card through waterboxes year of the reef contest and ended up ordering the Marine X 60.2 and it has been on back order but i finally got the notification saying fed ex has a shipping label made for it. Im so excited to finally have some news on it arrival and plan to video tape the process of the build. I only have the waterbox skimmer for it currently and am debating oon the otheother aspects of equipment but thinking im going to go with the reefmat 250 from red sea for the roller, tunze osmolator for ato, i was thinking about going with ecotech marines mp 10s (2 of them) and the vectra s2 return so i could eventually work in the apex controller but i likelike the hydros controller witwith dosing pump built in and then red seas dosing pumps smart technology to automatically adjust the dosing based off the weekly calcium test has me wanting to go that route. Its so many options and ways to go about this but looking forward to it and creating the build thread once it actually arrives. Any advice or tips or recommendations would greatly be appappreciated.

You don't necessarily need the automated testers/controllers until you have a lot of colonies and frags in the tank. You could use that budget to buy salifert for the 3 majors and Hanna for po4 and no3. You didn't mention lights in your post... that is the better investment than a controller for now.

I am ordering the orpek nature icon compact, but have a ai prime 16 reef at the moment on the tank i am upgrading from. I wasnt planning on getting the controller at the moment but i want to be able to integrate one eventually so trying to consciously purchase equipment that can work together. I currently use the red sea test kits which have been working great and i have the magnetic stirrer for testing as well. I do know i really want the ecotech marine mp 10s because of the physical cord being on the outside of the aquarium and then being able to sync the 2 powerheads together to optimize the functions of the powerheads. The reasoning for that is be ause my 3 maine coons i want to get a kraken reef lid for this aquarium and make sure it fits as best as it can and i havent had great luck when adding cut outs to lids and them being placed in spots that dont conflict with other equipment. I plan on haning my light mounted from the ceiling (it currently already is, just needs to be raised up to accommodate the new set up)

Fedex finally contacted me and it will be getting delivered on Tuesday next week!!!! I have decided on the Red Sea reefmat250 fleece roller to put in place of the socks (maybe in addition to and use a media cup, still debating) my waterbox 140 protein skimmer, a pentair 25w UV light that will get plumbed into the return line for now and eventually put on is own pump to run at a lower for flow rate. Im going to hold on on purchasing a new light until i go to move my corals over.
