I must admit I am more of a LPS fan but I did pick up a frag of ORA purple birds nest.

I know once acc. high light and flow stable alk,ca and PH anything else I should know about SPS or this coral in general?

from my very limited understanding of SPS this is one of the easier once to keep correct?

It is. Anything that has been around for a while, especially ORA pieces that have been propated in captivity for a while are generally hardier than those that are new to captivity.

I hope it does well I see the challenges in keeping a true mixed reef of softies, LPS & SPS we shall see.

ORA stuff is definitely hardy. I had a power outage that killed some sps of mine about a week or so ago one was a big chunky frogskin I pulled it out threw it in my sump because it was late and didn’t feel like messing with it. I have since fraged it and the piece in the sump is coming back, parts of it anyway. The other ones, no chance of saving.

thanks guys! so far only 5 hrs in the tank and it doing better than the blue solaman tree i got. it open right up and seems to like it.
I needed something for high in the tank and by the PH so it should be happy.

I keep killing SPS frags i get from my Lfs.

my parameters are good but ph is a little low, I have a lot of flow and good lighting so I am at a loss.
