Jarry's 235 gallon LPS peninsula

Can’t wait to see this take shape. How high above the water do you have the XR15’s? What settings do you plan to run?

It's currently 9,5" above the water, but it's just where I hang the holder weeks ago :) I have one of XR15 on the LPS tank 12" above the water at 60% AB+, so I think I'll move these a bit higher too (probably to 10-11") and add some intensity as peninsula tank is also wider. There is only 16" water colomn in small LPS compared to 21.6" here. There will also be DIY LED bars to help with the shading and to help to finetune spectrum (AB+ is really blue when there are just rocks in the tank, it gets much better with the corals of course). So I would expect 10-11" above the water at 70-80% AB+, but I also plan to rent a PAR meter as I always did, because I like this option to eliminate one variable when it comes to corals health. It may also save some electricity consumption:)

Still work in progress

How much more rock do you have to move over now?
There should be at least 40kg (90lbs?) of liverock left in the barrel, maybe more. I don't have to move it all, I want to leave enought space for corals, but I think it will be just enough + I can use all liverock from 50 gallon LPS tank later, in case it won't be enough to fill the tank.

I'm slowly adding corals, mostly ones most shared or stinged in the small tank + species where I have multiple frags or colonies. All looks good so far, but I know that algae will come :) I just got delivered the biggest D-D Jumpguard version, to be ready for some fish. My last 2 tanks were strictly LPS + SPS, no soft, no anemones (I did have a soft tank as my first reef), but I want this one to be different. I will try my luck with Sunburst Quadricolor anemone (you can't beat its color, shape and movement by any coral) and Clavularia tricolor, I'll get both from fellow reefers almost for free. I prepared nice rock with hole, light and flow for anemone, maybe I'll be lucky and it will stay there. I should get it next Friday, quadricolor might be sooner.

Corals look great!

Working on the stand, this will take a while to make it precise, but I think it will look good🙂
I also booked first group of fish for the next Wednesday. A. Triostegus, Z. Desjardinii - not sure if Desjardinii is available and I'll try my luck with group of 8 Chromis Viridis (never had them before)

Thank you, I'll now wait for about a week and if all new fish will be ok, then I'll move corals, fish and Radion light from the temporary tank.

Stand is almost done:) And I should have 2 remaining tangs tomorrow, so I hope that they will be fine. I decided to get them earlier than planned because of the tangs I already have in the tank – didn’t want to risk any serious fighting later.

Some fish, corals and anemones, can't wait to move the rest of the corals in and finish the scape.

Latest addition - Acanthurus Olivaceus and A. Pyroferus. Very small, but looking healthy and other tangs are ignoring them, maybe also thanks to size difference. So current fish list is:

Acanthurus pyroferus
Acanthurus olivaceus
Acanthurus triostegus
Ctenochaetus Truncatus
Zebrasoma desjardinii
Zebrasoma xanthurum

Xanthichthys auromarginatus
7xChromis viridis

Then I have in small tank which I plan to move in a week or two:
Oxycirrhites typus
Neocirrhites armatus
2x Amphiprion ocellaris
Salarias fasciatus
Pterapogon kauderni

And then maybe small group of Pseudanthias squamipinnis, but I'll see how tank will handle bioload. It looks very good so far, it is my first tank with rollermat and I have to say it's a huge improvement. Also skimmer is quite oversized for the tank, so I hope it will work.
