JBJ 45 New to hobby

Hello Reefers, I'm going to start an aquarium with a JBJ 45, I am new to the hobby and only plan on having fish and soft corals. I'd love to get an idea on what I would need to start. I know, every tank is different so I'd like to start with what I have planned. I want to have a file fish, a Scopus tang, and some other kind of tang. Of course, some cleaning crew eventually. Where I live can get very hot, so I may need a chiller, but from my research so far, I've read that if you have proper filtration and water flow, a chiller may not be necessary. I would like to limit my water changes, if possible as well. Simply because an aquarium store is FAR from me and my water at my home is absolutely terrible. I have purchased so far, on a whim, an AI Prime light, a 200 w heater and a pls 50 skimmer. I would be indebted to anyone who would be kind enough to give me a list of other equipment I may need to start off in the best possible way. You are on the right track for the equipment. I would also get good quality test kits for nitrate, phosphate, alkalinity, and calcium.

Have you considered an RODI system to make water yourself? It would allow you to do the water changes and always have water available for emergencies. Limiting water changes, IMO, is not a good idea.

Regarding the tangs, I would reconsider having any tang in that size tank. It is way too small.

I agree with the above poster. Get some good quality test kits. Skip API kits and get Salifert, RedSea or Hannas
RODI and an ATO will be a lifesaver for you. It's nice not to worry about going to the fish store or wherever to keep getting water for your tank.
