Jebao SLW Rusty

I have bought quite a few of these over the years. Everytime after a few months I start to see some discoloration around the magnet. I have not done any ICP to determine if it’s affecting water quality yet.

Have others seen this issue?

Following. I had a pair of MP lookalike SDWs for a few years but recently replaced them with these Nero lookalike SLWs.

I've got 3 of them on my frag tank alone and I can't say I've ever seen the magnets rusty like that. Mine end up with delamination around the magnet and the plastic but the epoxy stays intact. Send Jebao an email and see if they'll replace them.

Yes, inspect the SLWs at least monthly. I've thrown out a SLW 20 and 30 after about 2 years of use. The magnet in the rotor can rust.
