Hey guys!

I've finally gotten back into the hobby after getting out in 2009. I had actually purchased this tank in 2009 but never got around to setting it up! I was planning on setting it up as a planted freshwater and put it in my son's room, but my wife said the saltwater tanks are "prettier" - sweet!

I purchased a 29 gallon complete setup off a buddy of mine- really just wanted it for the light, rock and sand as I already had the stand and 20G tank I wanted to use. Bonus- it already came with a clownfish.

First picture I took of the tank after moving everything over from the 29G to the 20G long:

Had a problem with the first round of CUC. My snails died almost instantly, hermit crabs were dormant. One hermit ended up dying. Thanks to the help of this forum, we narrowed it down to me stirring up the sandbed when I moved everything over to the different tank.
Which was fine by my, I didn't really like the crush coral sand look anyway. I like it fine. :)

SO, I had to tear it all down again to throw out the old sand and added a new bag of live sand. Whatever it was, seemed to work because now my CUC is doing great!

Set up a small 5 gallon holding tank while the new sandbed settles down for a couple days.

Received some goodies in the mail and picked up a new bag of sand from my LFS.

Waiting for things to clear up.

My dining room was a mess for a while!

Picked up a pulsing Xenia coral! I remember these were pretty hardy so I figured it could be my "test"

Everything is back in the tank!

The only thing that hasn't opened up is my GSP. I noticed a tiny aiptasia on it. Think it's possibly agitating it?
Not sure if I should try to get the aip. off or just eat the 10 bucks and throw it away.. I don't want that crap spreading.

Another pic of my Xenia-

All caught up to date! Can't wait to get more coral for the tank! Wish I could find someone close to me to get some frags from instead of big prices at the LFS!

As far as stocking, I planned on maybe getting a royal gramma and a cleaner shrimp sometime in the future. Not planning for anytime soon, though.

Nice work so far and welcome back! What area are you in? There could be a local club where you can find other local reefers to trade with:)

Cell phone pics I took tonight.. need to get my dslr fired back up but I'm kind of impressed with the iPhone camera.

Way more blue than it really looks but I don't have any orange/yellow film to put over the lense.

In the pic that has both zoas you can see the reflection of my phone's lense in the glass haha
