Just cleaned my skimmer and sump

uhh. no. its not. PICS? everything ok up top?
Break out the prime!

Pink is a fine color. Pink what is the point. Pics are helpful to trouble shoot. It could be a sponge colony, it could be a bacterial colony.
I got photosynthetic sponges that were sumped for a week or two and pink ish. Put em in the dt and the purpled up nice.

eww.
do you use prime mb7 or bacterial supplements?

Fuel is amino acids and vitamins. NOpx is a nitrate phosphate reducer.
Prime stability mb7 some others are bacterial supplemants. Kinda like the stuff live sand is bagged in. Canned bacteria.
All the kids are into the MB7 lately, check it out
One theory is competing bacteria. by increasing the number of known beneficial bacteria you reduce the risk of other nusance bacs appearing and causing probs.
Melev of melevs reefs swears by Prime.
Im in the middle till I see more. I like diversity, real bacteria (natural seawater, corals from all over, trusted older live rock sources) and I use prime and stability and add live sand yearly.
Havent tried the MB7 yet honestly.
So if i suspect bacteria probs I hit the prime first clean up and look for the source.
Same routine for striring up junk in my tank.

And If you get some strange in your tank always take pics...we dig that.
(and its easier to id for probs too.) Wide and close as you can get it.

Good info. Thanks. I'm sure there's some more floating around. I started seeing it in my fuge too. I'm honestly thinking it's the food I was using. I forget the brand, but it was mysis feast in a bottle.

What do you guys think of Dr. Tims Waste Away?

I ve never used it.
dunno, food feeds bacteria and sponges and stuff. mystery.

I use prime and stability.
and ocean water.
Ive never used the DR tims one.

I'm starting to get a little worried. Whatever this stuff is, it's getting all over the walls and rock. It's appears to be some kind of algae I think. I do not "think" it's dino's. It "waves" in the flow on the back wall. Not really sure.

Pictures are the best bet.
This is the best I can. This is in the fuge.
