Geek question here:
Most advanced lights today come with the ability to do moonlight, thunderstorms, Aurora Borealis, rainbows, etc.
I like the thunderstorm settings and would really enjoy adding some Thunder sound effects that are synchronized with the lightning. Has anyone already solved this? I saw one Arduino project that was on a maker builder forum about synching sounds and lightning flashes for a Halloween project, but nothing else that matched what I'm going for in the aquarium.

Thanks for any help!

That's a good idea. I honestly can't think of anything other than speakers though. I don't have any experience with those advanced lights. Thunderstorm mode? Rainbow mode? Since when did we need those? :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Getting the lights to do the thunderstorm mode is easy, but trying to figure out how to include an audio app that people watching the tank get the full experience is the wow factor I'm trying to accomplish. I'm really hoping something has already solved this. Please?

I actually thought about doing this until I watched how the fish reacted to the lighting effects.....they all scattered and hid. Seemed like it stressed them out so I ended up not using it at all :-(

Post this again in the DIY forum, I think you'll reach more of the guys that are good with electronics projects like this:

I also did a quick search and found this that might help:

Good luck!
