Was sold as an open red brain, a little smaller than a saucer like for coffee. Do these guys have a sweeper tenticle, I understand they usually prefer to be on the sand is there anything else as far as flow I should try to provide?

It looks really nice. Brain corals always amaze me

I like that brain! I would just feed it at night before lights out. I would meaty foods like mysis. Some will eat small pellets as well.

Awesome, thanks! I was pretty excited to get it, and had to do some rearranging to give him a nice clear spot so he wont sting other corals. I'll give it a week or 2 before I start target feedings so it can fully adjust to the tank. Or should I start trying to target feed asap?

I would wait at least a couple of days. Feed the tank like normal and around the middle of next week start target feeding.
