I’ve never used Kalk before. I currently use AFR but I want to add kalk and use AFR along with it.

My question is I’m looking at Avast kalk stirrer but wondering if it is a solid choice over just using a container like my friend does. I think he just adds kalk to a container with rodi and doses it.

I’m sure it costs much less to start this journey vs a stirrer. Thoughts?

In my opinion a tank with saturated kalk is the best but at some level of consumption the convenience of a kalk stirrer would make it a better solution.

I have a ~300 gallon total volume system with a Kalk stirrer, very little work. I dump in some kalk when the ph goes down. I have another ~300 gallon total volume system with saturated kalk. I fell like I am mixing 5 gallons of kalk all the time to feed this thing. If you have space and budget, get a stirrer.

DO YOU USE A PAR METER WHEN PLACING NEW CORAL IN YOUR TANK?
