Well, you dose what the tank needs.

Do you have any idea how fast alk is consumed in the aquarium?

It will help raise pH, but that shouldn't really impact how much you dose.

You are planning to replace the all for reef with kalkwasser?

Assuming so, I'd start at dosing about a half liter a day. Then track alkalinity over the next week and see what happens, and adjust the dose as needed to stabilize at your desired alkalinity.

ive been dosing all for reef by tropic marin 20ml a day
I'm pretty certain there is a thread on here about someone calculating how much kalkwasser to dose based on their current all for reef dose. I used it because I recently did that and it worked great.

I already gave a recommended dose. A half liter is 500 mL. A typical dose is more like 1% of the tank volume daily.

That's actually a very small dose for your size tank, and won't have a big pH impact, but you may be able to raise it as you track alkalinity.

run it over 12 hour period?

There are different strategies.

Some dose at night to raise the pH minimum.

Some dose 24/7. (I did that)

Some dose during the day to stabilize alk the most since it is used mostly during the day.

In your caser, I'd do it at night since the alk boost is small.

What is your alkalinity now?

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
